As a lover of nature and mindfulness, I simply adore being a Tree Babies Guide.
Held in the beautiful grounds of Caldicot Castle Country Park in Monmouthshire, each 90 minute session is a blend of babywearing, mindfulness, forest bathing, breathing techniques, journaling, creativity and gratitude.
Throw away any preconceived ideas you may have about any other baby classes you may have been to, including my own. This is something very different, and the beauty and magic is in the simplicity and stillness. This is a session for being, rather than doing. Holding space for one another in the here and now, rather than trying to 'fix' things. Acceptance of the moment, just as it is. Learning to be mindful and take moments just for you, whilst holding your baby close as you introduce them to nature and all of the benefits being outdoors brings you both.
Together, we will move through the magic of the seasons and embrace the changes in weather it brings - so raincoats will be a must!
Each session lasts between 60 - 90 minutes and costs just £6, with a maximum of 12 parents to ensure that groups remain intimate and supportive. There is a tea and gratitude ceremony for the last 30 minutes, where you are free to chat and tend to your little ones. I provide herbal tea and hot chocolate - just remember to bring along a lidded travel mug!
Sessions are held on Wednesday mornings from 10am - 11.30am, and booking is essential.
Spaces are released on the website for the week ahead every Sunday after I have carried out a risk assessment of the grounds and forecast weather.
Suitable for babies up to around 12 months of age ideally carried in slings. If you are unable to use a sling but would like to join us, please just let me know in advance and I will choose a pram friendly spot for us to enjoy the session. Caldicot Castle Country Park has pram and wheelchair friendly paths on the main routes, and I am always happy to make adaptations to make Tree Babies as accessible as possible. You can get in touch via the contact form, or by emailing claire@littlepips.org
Please note that although I am more than happy to give general guidance and signpost you to local Sling Libraries and resources to support safe baby wearing, you are solely responsible for ensuring that you and your baby are safe and comfortable with a suitable sling. There are so many benefits to baby wearing, so please do just ask if you need pointing in the right direction!
