Pips Baby Massage & Wellbeing Circle

Pips Baby Massage & Wellbeing Circle sessions are the perfect first group class to attend with your baby. Come and be part of a safe and nurturing bubble where the unpredictability of life with a newborn is embraced, meaning that there are no expectations of you or your little one, and all sounds and smells are welcome! This group is suitable from 6 weeks up until you and your little one feel ready to move on to Piplings Sensory Stretch and Sing classes.

This is so much more than just a baby massage class. This is time for you both, being held in a special and safe space to be supported postnatally and share as much or as little of your journey with others as you like.

We dance, we sway, we massage our babies, we hold space for one another, we may cry at times when the sleepless nights get too much... but my goodness do we laugh too! This class is all about embracing the highs and lows together.

It is also completely normal if your little one sleeps or feeds throughout the whole class - your baby has no idea that you have paid for them to have a massage at any particular time! There is huge benefit to simply being in the company of others and enjoying some adult conversation, whilst learning lots of tools and techniques to take home to enjoy with your baby.

There are so many benefits associated with baby massage, as it:

  • Aids newborn sleep.

  • Supports the digestive system, helping to alleviate common ailments such as wind and constipation.

  • Encourages the release of the hormone of love - Oxytocin - in parent and baby, building attachment and connection through positive touch.

  • Helps to ease symptoms of colic.

  • Supports parents to recognise and respond to their baby's cues.

  • Supports brain development.

  • Research has shown that baby massage can be of great benefit to those suffering with Postnatal Depression.

  • Massage can help alleviate the discomfort associated with teething, tummy pain, colds and congestion.

And so much more!

Each week we will explore a new part of the body, building up to a full massage routine for you to use at home. On our final week of each term, you will have the opportunity to have your photo taken with your little ones against my beautiful floral backdrop, and each week I bring along my handmade Floral Hoop so that you can capture your babies as they grow.

This course runs over 4 weeks, at a cost of £45 for the term. They are held on Monday and Tuesday mornings, from 10am until 11am at Portskewett and Sudbrook Recreation Hall.

You will receive one of my much loved Little Hygge Bags in your first session, which includes some baby massage oil to use throughout the course. You will also have access to a class Facebook where I upload a video of our massage strokes each week, so you don't need to worry if you need to miss a session, and partners are able to also enjoy a class from home too for no additional cost.

Lots of parents repeat the term more than once, as their little ones becomes more engaged with the activities as they adapt from womb to world... I just adore watching you grow together!

I am also qualified in baby massage for little ones with additional needs, and am also available for private bookings on Thursdays between 10am and 2pm, so please do just drop me an email with any enquiries: claire@littlepips.org
